Website Layout doing things because it is very easy to navigate.
There is one other thing you should pay attention to when creating a website. A person that writes a well written page should make sure he or she is consistent in his or her layout of the web page. There should be no unnecessary steps or clicks to the next web page. Your visitors should feel that they are walking through a well presented walk in closet. Do not make them feel as though they are being taken to an endless series of pages. You should aim for your website to be seamlessly integrated, with as many elements as possible that make your online business profitable.
The best way to accomplish this is using a sidebar. A sidebar is an additional web page that is included with the main page and acts as a sub-page, or a side page, of the main page. A sidebar can have videos, images, or just textual content. It should be well organized and should clearly separate the main page from the various sub-pages of the page. In the same manner a sidebar should clearly separate the page it is a part of.
Don't confuse the search box with the sidebar.
You should also include a search box on the sidebar. This search box is used to search the page it is on and includes results from all the pages it is a part of. However, it should not be used to search the web page it is a part of.
It is very important that you get a person to click on the search box because that is where you will be capturing your visitors email address.
The same logic applies for the sidebar.
You should create your website pages with a search box in the lower right corner and the sidebar at the upper right corner. In the same manner you should create your email capture form with a search box at the top and sidebar in the upper left corner. These forms are not intrusive and should not be in the way of a person's navigation around your site. Also, you should place these forms so that the person can quickly and easily find their site of interest.
When a person finds their site of interest, they click on the email capture form. This email capture form is not invasive. It should be clearly labelled as a capture form, but it should not be in the way of a person's navigation around your site.
In the same manner when a person clicks on the sidebar the navigation should be clear and the sidebar should not be in the way of a person's navigation.
It should be in the same manner the search box and the sidebar also. These are not intrusive forms and should not be in the way of a person's navigation. The sidebar should only be in the top right corner of the browser. As for the search box, it should be in the top left corner of the browser and you should have a drop down box to the left of the search box.
More Than One Main Page
What if I have more than 1 homepage and I want to have the drop down box in the top right corner and the search box in the top left corner?
In this case you should put the sidebar in the middle of your page. As for the drop down box you should place it in the bottom right corner of the page. You should not have any pop ups or any popups on the side of the page. These need to be on the top of the page. You can put your sidebar where it will not distract a person from looking at the page they are on.
Do not add any popups, ads or popups in the area where the search box is. In this case the search box will cover up the text. You should not place any ad or popup that cover up the text of your page. You should put the main content on the left side and have the secondary content on the right side.
For example, You have a page that has the main content on the left side and has the secondary content on the right side. In this case the main content should be centered on the page and the sidebar should be on the top and the drop down menu in the middle. As for the secondary content you should not have any pop ups or any ad that cover up the text of the page.
What is the right sidebar size?
All text should be 10 pt and smaller. If you have any text larger than 10 pt you should have a bullet list or list of information below the text.
What is the wrong sidebar size?
In this case you should use a larger font and place a bullet list of information below the text. This way you can still use all of the text you want but it will be easier for a person to read it.
How do I choose the right sidebar size?
This should be easy as the page will already be designed and your browser size will be set to 100%.
You will then need to click on "manage fonts", and then choose the size you want. In this example, I'm going to use 10 pt, set your browser size to 100% and then type the size in. That is the size I want to use when printing.
When you print the page, do not use a page transfer paper or the page will not look right. You should now have something that looks good on different browsers.
Now if you do not like the look of this, you can always crop the page and make it fit your requirements.
